Nicolas de Miranda:
Has quickly established himself as one of the most intriguing filmmaker to emerge in the past few years. With an strong interest in the visual image from an early age, Nico would ‘steal’ his parents’ camera to shoot action movies with childhood friends. An accomplished photographer, Nico was drawn to New York City to embark on a career as a visual storyteller and artist. He studied lighting for seven years working his way up from assistant to photographer at a prominent New York studio specializing in still life.
Nico is a highly sought after cinematographer. He brings a mastery of both movement and authenticity that is difficult to find. Nico prides himself on strong collaboration and the ability to work from the elements of a story to find the best look for a film. He has experience in both narrative and documentary with the versatility to shoot in both controlled settings and in fast-paced situations.
Nico brings to each endeavor a passion for the moving image. Influenced by the both the European masters (Fellini, Antonioni, Bellocchio) and the great Asian filmmakers (Kurosawa, Wong Kar-Wai, Hou Hsiao-Hsien), his work is imbued with natural beauty and stylized realism. He was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina and now lives in New York
